This advanced training workshop showcases the healing that is possible when combining the frameworks of both Buddhist psychology and EMDR therapy to create a primary clinical practice rubric for those struggling from addiction and addictive behaviors. Case studies and demonstration videos will be utilized to show how the MET(T)A Protocol – Mindfulness and EMDR Treatment Template for Agencies – can be utilized to create a trauma-focused environment to heal those within private practice and outpatient settings as well as residential treatment centers. Participants will be guided to understanding the importance of developing their own mindfulness practices within a MET(T)A Protocol trauma-focused paradigm, and the development and practice of personal mindfulness exercises will be encouraged. The workshop concludes with concrete examples of how treatment centers, outpatient clinics and private practices alike can utilize the scaffolding of the MET(T)A Protocol for assessment, treatment planning, and improved treatment outcomes.
